Day 1
12.00 – landing on cruise motor ship in Listvyanka settlement
Start of cruises “The North Baikal” and “Journey to Olkhon”
Tourist settlement Listvyanka is situated in 65 km from Irkutsk, on the south-west shore of Baikal, at the mouth of the Angara River; the city and the settlement are connected with the picturesque highway.

Start of the cruise
Departure to the Round Baikal railway (travelling time – about 2 hours)
The Round Baikal railway is a unique complex monument - a historical and architectural nature and landscape protected area, part of the zone of Baikal State Nature National Park. Located on a narrow strip of south-western coast of Lake Baikal, it covers the area from Baikal railway station to the railway station of Slyudyanka. This area includes the monuments of engineering art (tunnels and galleries, bridges and viaducts, retaining walls), and monuments of architecture. It should be noted that such a large number of engineering structures as at the Round Baikal railway does not obtain in any part of the railway in the whole Russia. From Baikal station to station Slyudyanka engineering and architectural complex of nearly a century-old constructions remained as follows: tunnels and galleries - all complexes and freestanding constructions - 56; complexes of bridges and viaducts - 248; retaining walls - 268; architectural monuments - 172 (it was the most harmed - a lot of buildings were taken to pieces and exported outside the protected area of the Round Baikal railway), while the most part of this complex is concentrated on the stage of the railway, the length of which is 84 kilometers from Lake Baikal to Kultuk, which is a mountainous, rocky shore.

Overnight on the motor ship near the mouth of the Shumikha River; there is a small sandy beach on the bay, a small fishermen village dated to building of the Round Baikal railway and a landscaped taiga nick are situated in the neighborhood
Day 2
About 6.00 leaving the place of overnight for Peschanaya Bay, which is famous for its stilted trees, magnificent views on Lake Baikal from the cliffs, surrounding the bay, and a good sandy beach

2 hours walking passage to Sennaya bay – the cordon of the Baikal National Park – along the picturesque mountain path, running over the shore of the lake by the branches of the Primorsky range (at your wish). On the way you will visit Babushka bay, which is one of the most beautiful. In the evening – Russian bath (for extra pay) on the shore of Lake Baikal.

Day 3
About 6.00 leaving Sennaya bay and passage along the west shore to the north of Olkhon Island (travelling time – about 8-10 hours), which is the largest on Baikal and one of sacral places of Buryat people and shamanist religion.
Baikal is the blue heart of Siberia, and Olkhon is the heart of Baikal. The island is geographical, historical and sacral center of the lake.

By the condition of absence of strong waves, the motor ship will stop at white marble cliff Sagan Zaba to watch petroglyphic drawings of the III-V centuries AD. Academician A. P. Okladnikov said:”…petroglyphic drawings of Sagan Zaba are a real pearl of ancient culture and art of the peoples of Eastern Siberia. According to composition, manner of drawing and variety of plots they are the most complicated of all known petroglyphic drawings from Ural to the Pacific Ocean.”

Day 4

At about 12.00-13.00 debarkation of the passengers in MRS settlement (Sakhyurta); the end of the cruise “Journey to Olkhon”
At about 14.00-15.00 landing of the passengers in MRS settlement (Sakhyurta); the beginning of the cruises “Journey to Severobaikalsk”, “The Hot Springs of Baikal”

Crossing the Small Sea from the south to the north part of the strait, to Zunduk Cape
On the way, if time and weather conditions let us, we will visit Ogoy Island, on the top of which the Buddhist Stupa was built in 2004.

Day 5
At about 5.00-6.00 leaving strait the Small Sea. A long moving along the west shore to Zavorotny Cape.

On the way, if the weather conditions are good, a stop at Ryty Cape, which is situated in the central part of Baikal on the west shore in front of the widest place of Baikal. There is nothing there: no settlements, no roads, and no paths. Local inhabitants avoid coming there, calling this place cursed. There’s something unexplainable happening in this place, and people don’t understand what it is.

In the evening (about 18.00-20.00) – arrival at Zavorotnaya bay
This geological settlement was built in 1962 by “Baikalquartzsamotsvety” enterprise, after the first discovery of microquartzit – abrasive material of high endurance for reflective metal processing. Only a few people live in the settlement now.

Day 7

Moving to the most north point of Lake Baikal – Yarki Island. You can bathe, lie in the sun, and enjoy the beauty of Baikal here.
Yarki is a big sandy bar in the north of Baikal. The water is shallow and warms till +24…+26 C; magnificent sceneries of Baikal Mountains and gorgeous views on Baikal are here.

Moving to Severobaikalsk
Severobaikalsk was founded in 1974. It appeared due to building of Baikal Amur Mainline. At that time it was the basic settlement of builders of the mainline and it was called Novogodny. For several years the settlement became the large transport center with powerful building complex and developed social infrastructure.

Moving to Ayaya bay
Ayaya bay attracts with its perfect beauty. This deeply cut in the land bay, situated in the north Baikal, from all sides surrounded by steep shores, is famous for its being one of the most gorgeous places on the north-east coast of Lake Baikal. The bay butts into the land on 4 km, and has a good sandy beach. There are two brooks on the east shore, flowing into the bay. The one in the north is called Ayaya.
For those wishing – walking tour along taiga path to glacial Lake Frolikha. The path is not equipped, so you need waterproof shoes to get there, because there are some water-logged spots on the path. Travelling time in one direction – about 3 hours.
Lake Frolikha is a complex monument of nature, its area is about 16.5 square kilometers, it is in the form of a horseshoe; it is situated in 8 km from Ayaya bay. There are 2 small islands, a wide peninsula and 2 gulfs on the lake. Frolikha has scientific and recreational value, rare for Siberia red fish davatchan lives there, which is a relict form of the Ice Age.

Day 9
Early (about 5.00-6.00) leaving Ayaya bay, a long moving along the east shore to Davsha settlement

Khakusy bay is wide, about 6 km, opened; it is limited on the north by Khakusy Cape, a little island Kamen is close to it.

In the evening – arrival in Davsha settlement
“Davsha” stands for “meadows”, “open wide locality”. The central homestead of the Baikal State Reserve is situated here, which was organized in 1916 to research and preserve the population of sable.
After arrival in Davsha, there will be a visit to thermal spring in the settlement, excursion to the museum of nature of Barguzinsky Reserve.
For those wishing there will be a walk, accompanied by instructor-forester, through wild taiga, rising to the top of the mountain along the South Biryukan River, overlooking a picturesque view on Davsha bay.

At about lunch time there will be arrival in Chivyrkuisky bay, which is one of the most unique places on Baikal. The bay is shallow and the water in it warms up very well and also possesses a great number of hydro biological resources.

Overnight in Zmeinaya bay; it is famous for its curative radon bathing with the temperature of the water from +41 to +45 C.

Promenades across the bays of Chivyrkui, for those wishing there will be fishing organized; if you don’t want fishing you can just relax and have a rest or organize a boat trip around the bay.

Moving to Krokhalinaya bay, it is famous for a great amount of fish, living in it. You can lie in the sun on a nice sandy beach or go fishing in the bay.

By good weather conditions a stop on Ushkany Islands
Ushkany Islands are the place of rookery of Baikal seal (Nerpa). If you want to see Baikal seal you should be quiet approaching the place of the rookery, otherwise animals will dive and won’t come back (visiting of the islands by your wish and for extra pay).

Return to the Small Sea by the evening; in case time and weather let us, there will be a promenade to the rest of the islands of the Small Sea; moving to Olkhon Gates – the south end of the Small Sea

Leaving the strait the motor ship gets into Big Baikal – its middle hollow with depth up to 1400 meters – and floats along extremely picturesque western shore of the lake in the south direction.
